June 8 is world ocean day and national ocean Publicity Day. This year's theme is "building Maritime Silk Road, connecting five continents and four seas". On the day of world ocean day, the blue ribbon Marine Protection Association held a marine protection theme exhibition in the Wanlvyuan, Haikou, to promote the concept of marine protection to the general public.
The ocean is known as the cradle of life, but with the development of human society, the marine environment is increasingly damaged. To this end, the United Nations officially established "World Ocean Day" for the first time in 2009. The United Nations hopes that all countries in the world can take this opportunity to pay attention to the oceans on which human beings depend for survival, and also to examine the adverse effects of global pollution and excessive consumption of fish resources on the marine environment and marine organisms. The blue ribbon marine protection association was officially established in Sanya, Hainan Province on June 1, 2007. It is the first non-governmental public organization with the theme of marine environmental protection in China.
On June 8, a marine protection exhibition themed "building a maritime Silk Road and connecting the world" was held in Haikou Wanlvyuan. More than 70 college students volunteers from Hainan University and Haikou School of economics blue ribbon Marine Protection Association publicized marine environmental protection to the public through exhibition boards, lectures, interactions and other forms.
